We know the results of taking the leadership short view: people teeter toward burnout, creativity is sacrificed for cookie cutter yes-employees, wisdom and perspective yield to the next crisis, and love, joy and loyalty get tossed out the window.
We can look to our crumbling infrastructure and our stressed environment as real life metaphors for what happens when we take the short view.
It seems we’re obsessed with fast returns and quick fixes, and we’re paying a heavy price for it.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
My passion is to take the long view, to aim well, to foster health, to empower others and to make joy and meaning central to every task.
